The Philippines, officially the Republic of the Philippines),[a] is an archipelagic country in Southeast Asia, primarily situated in the western Pacific Ocean. Being placed in Pacific ocean, the Philippines has a tropical maritime climate that is usually hot and humid. It is rich in biodiversity and rain forests and hence similar to Indian climate. Not only climate but the culture also shares similar veins with Indian society.

Philippine culture is a combination of Eastern and Western cultures. The Philippines exhibits aspects found in other Asian countries with a Malay heritage, yet its culture also displays a significant number of Spanish and American influences. Traditional festivities known as barrio fiestas (district festivals) to commemorate the feast days of patron saints are common, these community celebrations are times for feasting, music, and dancing. The Ati- Atihan, Moriones and Sinulog festivals are a couple of the most well-known.

English is the primary spoken language of Philippines and hence students are not required to learn any other languages unlike China and Russia.
